I woke up one morning and stayed in bed wide awake staring at the ceiling asking myself what’s in store for me this day. All of a sudden, my buzzer went on and there’s my answer. “I have a package for you”, was all I can hear from the postlady on the other end. I was not expecting any parcel to arrive this early. I did make a few online purchases some days ago but their delivery date does not come near to this day. Unlike the UPS and other delivery guys, the postlady prefer that I’d meet her in the Great Hall. It was not too much to ask and I needed my daily exercise too, so I rushed towards the Hall and got a pretty good size package.

As a full-time homemaker, what I usually do when I am not blogging is to find effective and easy ways to keep the house clean and tidy. My previous post - A Weekend Challenge has proved that vinegar is one effective way to get rid of the dirty and stubborn stain in my bath tub. And that’s just successful challenge. This time, I am moving to another part of the house – my kitchen!
TS would cook dinner for us every now and then. And I say it’s really sweet of him. He’s a very good cook and I can’t complain. However, when he leaves the kitchen, he also left some work for me to do. And I’m not just talking about the pots, pans, plates and other things he used. I am talking about the entire stove looking messy that if Gordon Ramsey pays a visit, he’ll shut it down!

TS and I decided to buy a different kind of Bird Feeds last Saturday to attract different kinds of birds. We were also concern about these little creatures now that it’s winter and it will be difficult for them to find food. We purchased a box that contains three 7lbs. bags of it. As soon as we arrived home, I immediately filled the bird feeder with it.
The following morning, I went to check if there has been any birds who came over to enjoy the feast. There was snow in the floor of my patio and I noticed there are tiny sets of footprints. I realized such are too big for the tiny animals that I was trying to feed. I just ignored it even if some of the food are scattered over the floor.

I have been waiting for a snowfall since the last time we had which was last month. When I get up every morning, I’d usually open the blinds to check for it but I ended up disappointed. This morning, I didn’t bother checking for it and it was TS who told me there’s snow in the ground.
Little did I know that the snow has been falling discreetly last night when everyone is asleep. Just like Santa sneaking to bring you presents. When I looked out the window, I was surprised to see not just snow but ice on the lake. It has been very cold for the past couple days and last night that made the lake freeze. It was different sight for me since I’ve never seen anything like it. There are still portions that didn’t freeze yet but it is getting there.
I’d like to share to you another beauty and magnificence of nature. However, I haven’t taken a picture yet. I will be posting the picture as soon as I get it. For now, let your mind wander…

Dry scalp is a very common issue people face especially in winter or colder climates when you are moving in and out of heated areas frequently. The scalp becomes tight and itchy and tiny flakes of dead skin like snow would shower when combing or brushing. It is commonly mistaken as dandruff and are treated as such which could worsen the condition depending on the treatment being used.
It was not only me who was faced with this problem but Travis too. In fact, his is worse. I tried to give coconut milk treatment in his scalp. It helped a little bit but it didn’t heal it at all. Both of us decided to finally put an end to it and he said we’d buy the Neutrogena T-Gel Shampoo. Upon the mention of it, I recalled Hermai’s post – Scalp Talk where she introduced the same product.
As soon as we got it, we immediately test its power and it worked wonders on me even if I have used it only once. Travis’s scalp on the other hand is slowly reacting to it positively. But it won’t be until his few more use of the product that it will be gone. I expected the smell of the product to be terrible but it was actually tolerable.
So, thanks to Neutrogena T-Gel Shampoo and thanks Herms!

Make way for the star of the Thanksgiving table – the Turkey! Before the good ol’ bird dominates the table of every household as the main course during the celebration, the Turkey comes in different packages (fresh or frozen, prebasting, prestuffed) and in different sizes.
The turkey can be purchased whole as in traditional manner or in parts, suitable for small families who have the preference of white or dark meat. Because there are many turkeys available in the market today, you can be sure that you’re getting exactly what you want by reading carefully the label. Look for the inspection mark by the USDA ( U. S. Department of Agriculture) to make sure that the meat is safe, wholesome and accurately labeled. You can also use the USDA Grade mark to be certain of its quality. Turkeys that are grade A are meaty, have a well developed layer of fat in the skin, and are practically free from pinfeathers, bruises, cuts, tears on the breast and legs, and broken bones.

Travis’ birthday won’t be soon. But when November 28 comes, he will be 30. I want to make it special for him. A party is not possible since we are planning to drive down to Georgia to spend Thanksgiving with my side of the family. Travis is one of the selfless person I’ve known. He know how much I wanted to spend a holiday with my siblings and he’s gonna give me just that even if it means his birthday celebration will be sacrificed.
The package that I ordered for him arrived today as expected. I was excited the entire day from waiting for the UPS guy to wrapping the gift and waiting for TS to be home. I think I am more excited than TS that I decided to give the gift to him today rather than waiting for his birthday. When he arrived home, I took his backpack from him and I proudly handed him my birthday gift.
Travis is not very good with words. All he said was, “a gift for me?” and “thank you, wifey!”. But when I looked into his eyes, I can feel his happiness as a thin blanket of tears covering his beautiful blue eyes and his lids turning red. He didn’t cry but he kissed me many times and each kiss is as passionate as the other. It is the certain look on his face and the appreciation that really made me want to get another gift for him. I want to spoil him as much as he spoils me. But I have a limited resources unfortunately.
What he got this time is one of the items in his Wishlist. A Lightscribe DVD ±R DVD Burner, a 30-pack Disc of Lightscribe DVD+R and DVD+R 100 Packs Cake Box Disc. He can crash it out of his Wish List while I save my way for the next one. The man of my life truly deserves it and more! I love you, Hubby!

TS woke me up with a kiss like he usually does when he is to leave for work. Then he rolled up the blinds in our bedroom window like he has some kind of a surprise for me. When I slid on my red silk robe, I joined him to look outside the window. I was caught not expecting to see what I saw. It was indeed a gift of nature… a gift from God!
It did not snow all day today. At around 11am, it stopped and I ended up staring in the window like a child waiting for more snow to fall. Later in the afternoon, snow showers started. The forecast said that it will be snowing all night today and tomorrow. So, I’m hoping to wake up to this even just for another day!

It is a popular line from Warner Brother’s torch-bearer – Bugs Bunny. But I am not here to blog about the cartoon character itself. I am here to write about what’s up for dinner. I have already laid down the clue. We didn’t have Bugs Bunny but we had Peter Rabbit in our dinner plate one night.
Dad gave us at least 3 whole pieces and it has been sitting in our fridge for quite sometime. I have been hesitant to cook it since for me, it is a pet and not meant to be eaten. But I ran out of meat variety and needed to prep this unless I will have more smoked sausages or bratwursts again.

It was a sunny Saturday afternoon when TS took me for a ride. We went to the Asian Store to buy some of my ingredients for the Pancit Canton that I am going to bring for Betty’s Retirement Party the following day. After we got what I needed, he took me to a town called Belle Plaine where Emma Krumbees Orchard and Farm is situated.
