“Don’t be afraid to try new things, you won’t know what you’re capable of until you do. “

It’s funny how YouTube.com became not only as a source of entertainment but it also is a source of knowledge and skill development. I am one of those people who uses the website to learn new things. I find it better than reading some guides or manuals since we get to see the instructions in action.
I have zero knowledge in make-up. Putting some baby powder on my face was just enough. Well, that is good if I only stay at home or even run errands to the grocery store. But if I go to work, meet and interact with people, a little glow of some sort will also boost a little bit more of your confidence.
There are also occasions that surely require to put more than just the casual make-up. One example was last Halloween. My sister and I decided to dress up for the occasion. It was our first time ever. Sliding into some costume is not enough, you have to have the look too. Then I went to my reliable source – YouTube. I browse at a variety of make-up and hair dos and use whatever I have available. I tried various styles a couple days before the Halloween. And when it was time, it turned out to be fine.
The website also introduced me to baking. I baked my first pie ever with its help and it turned out perfect!
My 28th birthday was very memorable. Everything turned out to be really good. My supervisor sent out an email to all the people in our floor announcing my birthday. Some Loan Officers would drop by my desk to personally greet me and others just sent an email greeting. Kyeela surprised me with a panda stuffed animal. It was really cute!
After work, TS and I went straight to Chanhassen Dinner Theater to watch The Altar Boyz. The dinner was fine and I was really stuffed. The musical comedy was very entertaining and they are such great performers. Their performance will conclude tomorrow so I was lucky I get to see them.
The following day, I was surprised because my team mates seemed very pre-occupied with something. It was not until I read my supervisor’s email that I know the reason why. These guys have brought together some food to celebrate my birthday. That is definitely sweet. What’s better is, we get to have an hour lunch celebration. My supervisor brought a chocolate frosted chocolate cake for me. It was very nice of them.
After work, Morgan went with me and TS to dine in Pei Wei. We hang out at home for awhile watching my Wedding video and a movie until it was time for us to get ready for our girl’s night out and it’s my first one ever! We went to Aqua and meet up with Kyeela. Some of our friends didn’t make it but still we had so much fun.
After seeing myself in the pictures taken yesterday during my 1st night out with my girlfriends, I am determined to work on getting fit. My birthday celebration should be my last excessive eating that I will en gage myself with. Most of my friends tell me that I don’t need to lose weight. Trust me, I need to lose the excess fat in my arms and stomach. Should I start considering and looking for the best weight loss supplements out there? Maybe not…yet. It will definitely my last resort.
In the meantime, I would like to thank you for all the birthday greetings: cards, email and comments on my website. And I would not forget to thank TS for making my day so special.
Wow! I could not believe that a week from now I’ll be a year older. I am not expecting so much on my birthday. The original plan was to invite my friends from work to have barbecue at home. However, I am caught with a perplexing situation knowing that our place is very small and I have at least 10 guests who are coming over. We only have our loveseat and two of our office chairs to accomodate them. So that plan was cancelled. The day itself may just be simple and I’ll be spending it with Travis. On my birthday weekend, there’s the plan of going out dancing and hanging out with my friends from work.
I am not expecting a gift from TS. But I know he has something for me and I can make couple guesses. He gave me a sexy lingerie last Valentine’s day. That works for me too! Who doesn’t want to wear a sexy lingerie when it boosts your confidence and make you feel and look sexy. He may buy me a bike instead since the weather is getting better and we have both been wanting to ride on the trails.
Whatever plans TS has in his mind, the important thing is I am able to have another year to spend with my Hubby, my family and my friends.
My day started right. I woke up early for our scheduled telephone conference with my Nanay and my sisters. We made it a point that on every Saturday morning, we will spare some time for us to keep updated especially that some of us have jobs and may not be in contact because of its demands. It is always nice to spend time and talk to my family. When I went to my desk, I found a bundle of tulips arranged in my crystal vase and in front of it is a package from Frederick’s of Hollywood. I was surprised and totally clueless.
After the conference, I then prepared some bacon, eggs and banana bread for TS’ breakfast in bed. I woke him up with a kiss and when I handed him what I prepared with my Valentine book for him, he told me that he is supposed to do it to me. Cougar jumped on top of the bed too. And like other breakfast in bed, I ended up sharing the food with him.
When I was at work yesterday, the atmosphere at work was just overwhelming. Lucky ladies get to show off their long-stemmed bunch of roses they get from their special someones. My supervisor gave me 3 pieces of heart chocolates not because it’s Valentines but because she always supplies us with it. I got a cute card and a peanut butter cup given by the daughter of one of my closest friends from work. That gesture made me smile and I put such precious thing in front of me in my computer so I get to see it once in a while and bring smile to my face.
I was on my way out and TS is waiting for me at the parking lot. I could not resist but tell one of the Loan Officers that she’s got a pretty bunch of flowers when I passed by cube and notice the beautiful white roses. As I continue to walk through the halls, many more ladies were carrying their baskets of flowers and or sweets. There was even someone who looks like she might need some weight loss pill got a handful of flowers of 2 different kinds while I only got my purse clutched in my hand and my Contigo Stainless Steel Vacuum Mug on the other. It lead me to ask, where are my flowers?
In my previous post entitled – Vatican Splendors, it was evident that TS has been spoiling me. And since it was not just my special day but it was OUR special day, it was just about right that I’d spoil him as well. On our 3rd Wedding Anniversary, I gave TS a Specialized Hardrock Sport mountain bike. We got it from Erik’s Bikes and Boards with a little discount. The original price was around $425 but they sold it to us for $386. A discount is a discount right? He liked his bike and he was even driving it inside our apartment that day it arrived.
Why I bought him a bike? We both gained weight for the past months. And instead of getting him involved with Fenphedra, we are going to sweat those fats and try to stay healthy. I also have a mountain bike in mind. It is also black with a matte finish and some purple butterflies in it. But it’s not about me this time. It is all about him.
Since I started blogging, I have started spoiling him. And now that I have a job, the more I can do it to my “spoiled brat”. hehehe!
Our Anniversary has passed and what comes next is the Valentine’s Day which not only I and TS celebrates but all couples do. It is the day of the heart and it is the best time to express once again and revalidate your feelings towards your partner. Some men are brilliant and simply know what ticks their woman. Some are not born to read their lady’s mind.
It was the day of our 3rd Wedding Anniversary and the snow storm just started. I woke TS with a breakfast in bed. It was nothing fancy really. I only prepared bacon strips, scrambled eggs, bagel with Philadelphia Cream Cheese on it and a glass of orange juice. I made sure I got up earlier than him so I can somehow surprise him a little bit other than the presents that I already gave him the day before. Since I made more than enough breakfast for TS, I ended up sharing it with him in bed.
The snow was falling heavily outside. TS kept on checking on the weather news and made sure it is safe for us to go out without getting stuck along the way. I had no idea where he is taking me and was totally clueless. I had been guessing and attempting to squeeze some info from TS but I was unsuccessful. It was only when we arrived at the Minnesota History Center in St. Paul, MN that I realized that we are going to see the Vatican Splendors! This is indeed one great gift from TS. He had not only kept me in touch with my faith but he also brought me to the Vatican without enduring the long and expensive flight.
The Vatican Splendors showcases artworks dating back to the third century. From the venerated relics (bone fragments) of Saint Peter to items from the election of Pope Benedict XVI, this exhibit comprises one of the largest Vatican collections ever to tour North America. Many items have never before been on public view. Since pictures are prohibited inside the exhibit, I had my intellectual memory to work its wonders and grasp the splendors in mind.
Time just went by so quickly. It is already three years since the beginning of our journey together as a married couple. Taking a deep breath before making my first step down the aisle is still fresh in my memory. I can still remember the look on TS’ face when he said his vows. I can recall every single detail of it. It was one special moment for both of us and for our family. I would like to go back to that moment over and over again. But there are so many things to look forward to with TS and I know that our third year together will just be as colorful as the previous.
Happy New Year everyone! We welcome the year 2009 with such great joy and hope. It has been a tough 2008 for some of us. Looking back, the previous year has brought us in economic recession, foreclosures, bailouts and rising gas prices. Will 2009 be a better year for us?
There are a whole lot of superstitions that came with the unfolding of the brand new year. It is believed that the events that occur during New Year’s Day may have an impact on the rest of the year. So it is advised to be careful with your deeds, words and even decision-making. It is also a popular belief to start a business or own retail franchises at the beginning of the year. “There are as many nights as days, and the one is just as long as the other in the year’s course.Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word ‘happy’ would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness.”
This is my journey to life – an interdependence of actions and dreams.
I love to travel. It’s how I learned to become more accepting.
I love my friends. They brought so much color to my living.
