This season is one of Mr. Bluelight’s favorite time of the year.  It is the time that he gets to show off his abilities of giving us a lightbulb in our heads.  Which is a guarantee that once he’s arround, we will never ran out of bright gift ideas for family and friends.  Other than supplying us with bright ideas this holiday season, Mr. Bluelight from Kmart is the only retailer that offers the layaway program among national discounted department stores.

There are lots of things to choose from.  Take those holiday decors off your list and grab them at Kmart.  You can only get those handmade glass ornaments and collectibles by Radko in KMart as they are the exclusive dealers of such beautiful kind.   Or better yet, start shopping for gifts for your family, dear friends or simply for yourself.

Finances won’t be a challenge with the Kmart Layaway. Simply pick out the stuff that you want, bring them to the Layaway counter and make a downpayment.  Then make a payment every two weeks and once it is completed, you can take your stuff home. This will definitely bring you back those times when credit cards doesn’t exist.  And what’s more is, you won’t be worried about debts later on since you get what you really paid for.

How’s that for another bright idea from Mr. Bluelight?

Travis’ birthday won’t be soon.  But when November 28 comes, he will be 30.  I want to make it special for him.  A party is not possible since we are planning to drive down to Georgia to spend Thanksgiving with my side of the family.  Travis is one of the selfless person I’ve known.  He know how much I wanted to spend a holiday with my siblings and he’s gonna give me just that even if it means his birthday celebration will be sacrificed.

The package that I ordered for him arrived today as expected.  I was excited the entire day from waiting for the UPS guy to wrapping the gift and waiting for TS to be home.  I think I am more excited than TS that I decided to give the gift to him today rather than waiting for his birthday.  When he arrived home, I took his backpack from him and I proudly handed him my birthday gift.

Travis is not very good with words.  All he said was, “a gift for me?” and “thank you, wifey!”.  But when I looked into his eyes, I can feel his happiness as a thin blanket of tears covering his beautiful blue eyes and his lids turning red.  He didn’t cry but he kissed me many times and each kiss is as passionate as the other.  It is the certain look on his face and the appreciation that really made me want to get another gift for him.  I want to spoil him as much as he spoils me.  But I have a limited resources unfortunately.

What he got this time is one of the items in his Wishlist. A Lightscribe DVD ±R DVD Burner, a 30-pack Disc of Lightscribe DVD+R and DVD+R 100 Packs Cake Box Disc. He can crash it out of his Wish List while I save my way for the next one. The man of my life truly deserves it and more! I love you, Hubby!

Some of us mistakenly think that inorder for us to be healthy, we have to lose our weight.  And we have different techniques and or approach to weight loss.  Some of us follow fad diets – Atkins, Southbeach Diet and the Low Carb Diet to name a few.  Others prefer to pop diet pills like Orovo, Alli, Hydroxycut and others.  Although these methods are good for those who really needs to lose the excess pounds, healthy living doesn’t necessarily mean a constant battle of losing weight.

Healthy Living means making positive choices that enhance your personal physical, mental and spiritual health.  It is when you eat nutritiously, choosing a variety of foods from all of the food groups.  It is when you build a circle of social contacts to create a supportive environment of people who care for you and who respects you.  It is when you choose to stay physically active to keep your body strong, reduce stress, and improve your energy.  And lastly, it is when you put an end to other negative lifestyle practices.

It is nice to know that in this journey of life, we get to meet different kinds of people.  Some just pass you by and some stop by and stay as friends.  Thank you Anne, Chuchie, Wena and Hazel.  You are definitely the flowers in my garden of life that makes it beautiful and colorful.  I’m blessed to have known you!

My Netflix movie – The Machinist has been waiting for us to watch it.  Although I have enough time to spare for it, TS on the other hand has been busy managing his websites.  Finally, we were able to sit down together in our couch with our pizza dinner in front of us.  I was the one who had our “jurassic” tv and the dvd ready with the hope that someday it will either be a Hi Def Television or a Home Theater projector.  After watching the Survivor episode that we missed last week, I was able to insert and play the movie.

The Machinist is an incredible achievement.  The plot is sharp, and carries with it the rarest of things in movies nowadays, a twist that doesn’t insult your intelligence. Christian Bale is amazing!  He intentionally lost more than 60 pounds to play his role as Trevor Reznik who is an insomiac factory worker.  He has not slept in a year and looks like a living skeleton. He spends his days as a souless drone in a machine shop (hence the title) and his nights with a whore (Jennifer Jason Leigh).  Things actually take a turn to the worse.  Trevor Reznik was framed for an accident at work, creepy ass cryptic post-it notes appear in his home, he becomes convinced his co workers are plotting his downfall, and starts to think his friendly neighborhood whore is in on it. He starts having horrid hallucinations.

The movie is riveting not only for its visuals, but in that it’s well paced.  It’s also riddled with amusing metaphors. The Machinist has an ending that provides a satisfactory, or at least a believable explanation for its mysteries and contradictions.

It is one of the few movies that I manage to finish without dozing in the middle of it.  TS always claim that I always sleep in every movie.  Butto my defense I say, that the limited video quality that a CRT tv can provide and a poor sound quality that I sometimes ended up putting the subtitles on accounts for my actions.  Therefore, It is one of our short-term goals to have a better Home Theatre System.  And if that will change my attention during movies, that remains to be seen.

Today we remember the sacrifice, the hardwork and the exhibition of love of our brothers and sisters who fought for our nation.  Let us take some time to reflect on the unselfish deed that they do for our safety.  Let us honor all those, living or dead, who served in times of peace as well as in war on the US armed forces.  To our Veterans, we honor you today.

It was one of the thrilling games I’ve ever witnessed.  This Sunday’s NFL game between my Minnesota Vikings and their historic rival – the Green Bay Packers gave me a scare and I really called out to heaven (literally) for help.

TS woke me up with a kiss like he usually does when he is to leave for work.  Then he rolled up the blinds in our bedroom window like he has some kind of a surprise for me.  When I slid on my red silk robe, I joined him to look outside the window.  I was caught not expecting to see what I saw.  It was indeed a gift of nature… a gift from God!

It did not snow all day today.  At around 11am, it stopped and I ended up staring in the window like a child waiting for more snow to fall.  Later in the afternoon, snow showers started.  The forecast said that it will be snowing all night today and tomorrow.  So, I’m hoping to wake up to this even just for another day!
