The movie 21 is based upon the book entitled “Bringing Down the House: The Inside Story of Six M.I.T. Students Who Took Vegas for Millions” by Ben Mezrich. It was filmed in las vegas nv which starred Kevin Spacey (as Micky Rosa) and Jim Sturgess (as Ben Campbell). Kate Bosworth co-stars on this movie of counting numbers as a group to beat the system of Blackjack.
The movie revolves around Ben Campbell who is an extrememly gifted M.I.T. student who immediately impresses his prefessor Micky Rosa. It turns out that Micky is also the leader of a gambling ring at the university: He oversees a group of students who travel to Las Vegas each weekend and manage to elude the eagle eyes of the casino operators – who are forever on the lookout for card counters – and return back to Massachusetts tens of thousands of dollars richer.

Now that it’s holiday season, we are expected to gain a few more pounds from the start of the Halloween candies that stays around for weeks, then there’s the availability of delicious foods on the festive Thanksgiving table. Add to that account the lazy days of winter where we would rather stay in the couch than involve in some winter sport activities. And there’s the incessant eating and drinking at Christmas and New Year.
Why is it so easy to gain weight and hard to lose it? What we can do about this Holiday Gaining is not to pop a diet pill or two in our mouth but to stick to the obvious: watch what you are eating, eat less and do regular exercise. Balance party food and meals with the other meals. During the day, eat small meals that would usually include low-fat protein, fruits and vegetables and whole-grain for fiber. Don’t got to a party hungry. Just imagine the typical foods served at the party may not always be very healthful. Other than that, if you go hungry, you are more likely to overeat. Consume alcohol in moderation. Those calories consumed in alcohol are most likely stored as fat.
So, if you don’t want to be sorry after the Holiday Season, follow the tips and you can have a healthful and happy eating!

While both of my boys are asleep, I on the other hand is busy browsing online to get some ideas for stocking stuffing. I bought 3 large stockings and they just look adorable. The downside to it is that, I will have to buy more things to put it each of their stockings.
It isn’t difficult to figure out stuffings for Cougar’s stocking. For sure he’ll get lots of toys and some treats. For TS, it is quite a challenge. One thing for sure is that I’m going to get him a 5.11 Tactical Utili-T shirt not only because it will take a lot of space in the stocking but also because the undershirts that I bought for him which wasn’t too long ago already have loose collars and have stretched a lot from washing. I have decided not to buy the same brand of shirt and settle to a thicker (which I read from the reviews) and better quality.
Now I wonder what will be inside my stocking. I am not expecting much but I sure do hope it’s not going to be empty. Howabout you? What do you usually stuff on your stockings?

As a full-time homemaker, what I usually do when I am not blogging is to find effective and easy ways to keep the house clean and tidy. My previous post - A Weekend Challenge has proved that vinegar is one effective way to get rid of the dirty and stubborn stain in my bath tub. And that’s just successful challenge. This time, I am moving to another part of the house – my kitchen!
TS would cook dinner for us every now and then. And I say it’s really sweet of him. He’s a very good cook and I can’t complain. However, when he leaves the kitchen, he also left some work for me to do. And I’m not just talking about the pots, pans, plates and other things he used. I am talking about the entire stove looking messy that if Gordon Ramsey pays a visit, he’ll shut it down!

I have been running on WordPress 2.7 Beta since they had it developed. Finally, WordPress 2.7 Platform has been released and I just had it installed in my site. I would never trade WP for anything. It just makes everything easy to manage, organize and not to mention, themes and features do look very professional.
If you are using WordPress as your platform, what you’ll notice on this latest version is its new interface. The look, feel and everything you do on your site is just fast and only takes fewer clicks than the previous versions. The new Dashboard can be arranged according to your own preference by simply clicking and dragging it. You can even customize your screen by using the Screen Options.
What I like about this is the built-in goodies. You no longer need the Threaded Comment plugin for your site as it is already part of Wordpres 2.7. And best of all, installing WordPress 2.7 will be your last manual upgrade since this version has a built in Automatic Upgrade for Platform Versions and Plugins.
WordPress has just got better and better. And I’m loving it!

The clock is ticking and 15 days from now it’s gonna be Christmas! Have you made your checklist yet? I have made mine and other than the intangible wishes that I have, I also wish for some real good help with my blogging. As many of you have noticed, I have not been updating my blog as much as I used to for the reason that I am preoccupied with household chores, my life outsite blogging which includes spending time with my babies – TS and Cougar, and putting some Christmas spirit in the house. Until now, I have not managed to make these demands work with my blogging.
After seeing the above video, I realized that I can actually make my daily tasks or occasional getaways work with blogging. Bret Bumeter’s video about recording your voice using an MP3 recorder and transcribing it to Dragon Naturally Speaking later on gave me a spark of hope. This means that I don’t need to give up blogging or sacrifice my time with my loved ones. So, that MP3 recorder will be added on my wish list. That and of course Dragon Naturally Speaking will definitely free me from my computer and allows me to be more productive. We were in shock when we learned about the condition of Francis Magalona. The Philippine Master Rapper was diagnosed with Leukemia or cancer of the blood last August. Who would expect that he will be struck with such a disease? No one did and any one could get it.
On a lighter note, technology and researches has lead us to some scientific breakthough. Cryo-Cell has reported that the use of cord blood stem cells has become an accepted clinical therapy for the treatment of leukemia and lymphomas and other diseases. Read the rest of this entry »
