All About Cougar

cougar 300x200 All About CougarJuly 5: Gone for a the holiday weekend. When we got back, noticed that my Cougar had significant weight loss. We thought it was just because he was alone and lonely and because summer always makes him shed a few pounds.  He was 13 lbs.

August 20: Cougar’s weight continue to drop.  Originally, he weighs 16 lbs.  At this time, he weighed 11 lbs.  I’m getting worried and asked TS to take him to the vet.

August 23: TS took Cougar to the vet. The vet just confirmed what we thought it was.  We were dreaded to hear that Cougar got diabetes. His Blood Glucose was in the 400s.  He has to be get insulin shots 2x a day with a strict diet.  Started his low carb wet canned food diet.  No more dry food for him.

August 25:  Started his Lantus insulin shots.  1 in the morning and 1 in the evening (12 hours apart).  TS joined the Feline Diabetes group to learn more and exchange ideas.  I on the other hand joined Your Diabetic Cat group online.  Got a lot of hope from these websites.  We learned that there is a big possibility that Cougar doesn’t have to have insulin shots all his life.  This was definitely a relief.

Recollection

September3

Since my last post, a lot of things happened. I’ve been to places,  got new things, encountered challenges and a whole lot more. As I look back, it seems to me that all that is left are just vivid memories. Could this be my sign that I am truly entering old age?

I have decided to write often even if each posts are short. After-all, I don’t spend as much time as I used to in front of the computer as I did before.  So most (if not all) of my future posts are through my phone.  I will have to get used to the tiny touchscreen keyboard or I’ll just have to post pictures instead.

I thought that if my memory will start to fail me, somehow my blog will act as a key to jump start my recollection. Having read my precious entries, it brings back interesting moments when I had to stay up late to grab an opportunity, count words to complete a task and then look forward for an approval and later on the payout.

Those were the days… and perhaps someday, I might get back to that old habit again.

aboutme About

“There are as many nights as days, and the one is just as long as the other in the year’s course.Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word ‘happy’ would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness.”

This is my journey to life – an interdependence of actions and dreams.

I love to travel.  It’s how I learned to become more accepting.

I love my friends.  They brought so much color to my living.

I love my family.  They have never stopped giving.

I love my life.  I never ceased growing.
