Holiday Fever

December5

Holiday FeverThings have been pretty busy with me for the past weeks since that week of Thanksgiving. I had a very wonderful time with my sister-Rosarie visiting us here in Jacksonville. Each moment was precious. From cooking breakfast with her to St. John’s Town Center to simply laying in bed talking about anything and everything… it was just amazing being reconnected to my sister again. Now I get to realize the great and wonderful feeling to have someone to share everything with. With her being around, I get to put make-up on my face once again, dressing up nicely and being confident. But most of all, showing off my cooking skills was the big part of it. hehehe! The three-day period of us being together was short but it was definitely worth it. I am looking forward to spending more time with her. When she left, all that’s left was me and Travis. The condo seemed quiet and the stillness of the place is very much nnoticeable. Of course, I have no one to giggle with as we all know TS is a serious person. Although I share loads of laughter with my hubby, the laughter you share with a sister, a friend is very much different.

During Thanksgiving, me and TS watched the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade. It felt sad. I felt emotionally distraught. While everyone else are busy with all the preps, me and TS did our usual daily routine. It made me miss home… and how we get so busy with the preparation for Christmas. Although it wasn’t Christmas yet, the feeling was aweful and I ended u Holiday Feverp crying. TS decided that even it’s just the two of us, we’d make our little Thanksgiving Dinner. We went to Walmart to buy stuff and the rest of the day was a busy day to prepare everything. Travis and I made peanut butter cookies together, baked biscuits together and prepare the meal together. Since it is our mini-thanksgiving celebration, we had our mini bird too. Instead of a turkey, we had buttered chicken instead. *grins* When Mom came home over the weekend, we were all busy preparing for our late Thanksgiving Celebration and celebrated Travis’ birthday in advance. We prepared all the usual Thanksgiving dishes. All w Holiday Feverent well, and I love each meal prepared. No wonder in just a span of a week, I already gained 6 pounds!

Last week, Tuesday, Alan (mom’s bf) moved in with all his stuff. He brought ht with him his bed and it turned out that there’s no place to put it but in our bedroom. So, we have like two beds in our room. There are still a lot of things to clean up and we are doing it slow. He’s got like fancy gadgets in industrial sizes. Travis seemed to like the bread maker that everytime he feels bored, he’d just grab the flour, milk and other ingredients and dump them in the bread maker. We get fresh bread everyday. But we have more leftovers everyday as we couldn’t finish the entire bread at one day. Moving back to the status of our bedroom and the entire condo, it was still a mess and there are a lot of things to be done. Even now, we are still unloading boxes and placing stuff in their new places. Holiday Fever After Alan moved in last week, I also got 2 wonderful cards. One was a thanksgiving card from Ate Marlie and Billy. While the other one is a Christmas card from Ate Jenn and Jeff. Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness. I’m sorry if it was only now that I get to thank you for the card. My camera was out of sight and I had to look for the docking station which was also somewhere beneath all he clutter. It was not only those two cards that I got. I received a Christmas gift from Rose and Vic Riley. Thank you so much Rose. I didn’t expect such a gift. You are very sweet like our other Filhaven sister. I’m so thankful for your generosity.

This week, after all the hustle and bustle, I expected things to slow down. I know I needed to get back online to keep in touch with my friends from Multiply… say my thanks and reply to their posts. But it turned out that my body took the Holiday fever literally. Last Sunday, I had this terrible headache which doesn’t seem to be usual. I took a dose of Ibuprofen. It helped a little bit but it didn’t get rid of it. Since then, I had excruciating pain in my head, my back, my joints, all over my body. It has ceased a little bit now, coz I’m not giving in to it. There’s no way I’m getting sick. Not now… Before I end this blog, here’s the only spirit of Christmas in our condo. Mom must’ve forgotten that she promised me a Christmas tree this year. But it’s better than not having any, right? Hopefully, I will be spending my Christmas with my sister-Rosarie, her fiance-Christian, my sister from the Netherlands- Manang Rema and her family, my Nanay and Tatay and my sister-Madon. Yes, you heard me… Nanay and Tatay are coming over for the holiday and for Rosarie’s wedding. Their visa was approved! Yay! I can definitely say, it’s a Merry Christmas! Holiday Greetings everyone!
