A Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

October30

It was a sunny Saturday afternoon when TS took me for a ride.  We went to the Asian Store to buy some of my ingredients for the Pancit Canton that I am going to bring for Betty’s Retirement Party the following day.  After we got what I needed, he took me to a town called Belle Plaine where Emma Krumbees Orchard and Farm is situated.

We were just right in time for the Great Scarecrow Festival.  The place is fun and has exciting activities for the family especially for the kids.  TS and I enjoyed at least 100 scarecrows on display.  A lot of their variety are in it like Indiana Jones, Batman and Joker and even the famous Olympian Michael Phelps.  But my most favorite of them all is the Big Idea‘s duo- Bob The Tomato and Larry the Cucumber from the VeggieTales.  And I have pictures to prove it!

We acted like kids and slid down on Emma’s Mountain after we enjoyed the jump off the giant hay pile.  We went through the corn maze which took us awhile to figure and petted the goats, donkeys and ponies at the petting zoo.  Then we took the wagon through the orchard and stop by at the pumpkin patch where we get to pick our own pumpkins.  You can also pick delicious apples of different kinds, sweet raspberries and hydroponic strawberries.

It was a good adventure for both of us.  It was the perfect way to get away from all the distractions and wind up.  It was for me our Halloween get-away!

    hello Madz!

that place we went to, there was actually a concrete path. so you can freely move around the orchard. you should check first online if the place that you plan to go next year has it.
