Can You Believe It?

October27

October 26, 2008.  Sunday.  When we woke up yesterday and looked outside the window, Travis noticed that there are a few snow showers that only seemed dust.  Is it safe to consider it as the first snow fall for this winter?  I was doubtful.  It wasn’t that much and it is just a wet snow.

I spent the next couple hours cooking Pancit for the Retirement Party of our On-site Manager – Betty.  I am not used to cooking for a lot of people so I must admit I am a little bit stressed out.  While I was working my way to finish my dish, Travis called out to me and said, “more snow”!  I looked towards the glass door and true enough, it was snowing.  Big snowflakes that if the ground is not warm, it would already stay there.  I really got excited to see my first now here in the US!  And surely I will see more of it in the next coming years.

That snowfall yesterday was just the beginning.  Looks like I will have lots of snow to fill my heart’s contentment.  For as early as now, it has just begun…

it wasn’t my first snow experience. i had it in the netherlands and i still love it. but living in a state where harsh winter is part of might change my mind.

I heard it in the news Jacs! It snowed in North Dakota too but it was just some flurries, not much. I still like snow though, I didn’t get to play with it until it snowed last March 2008 in KY where Christmas was up.

When the people asked me why did me move in ND and how we liked ND? I just say, I love snow… hehehe

    good morning sis,
i believe it cuz you are farther north than i. i am in michigan and this is not
at all uncommon for the u.p. and the
    northernstates like minn and north
and south dakota as well as canada.
in the upper peninsula here it’s very
common to have snow in october already and to be snowed in by november. i am northwestern mi
so not quite so much snow here. but
it does get very cold! i like hot! but oh well nothing we can do about the weather lol. i am not ready to think
    about snow and ice. ick!

    big hugz for you

    hi sis
thanks for stopping by. i am going
to have to stop using other people’s themes cuz my freinds think i made them. a friend of mine did the halloween kitty theme on my page. i fell in love with it and had to have it. it was one of love at first sight thingys lol. i will tell my friend you liked it.

sis when i work with oranges and browns
it never turns out. i don’t know why
those colors look so good when others do it and when i do it it looks really horrible. i probably will do it at some point. i guess.

anyway, i need to ask you a question.
do you think my themes are boring? i know you are prejudiced lol so please be honest here okay. i was talking to
one of my friends yesterday and she made a remark about how she tries to make each one of her themes very different from the last one. i am too sensitive and of course i took it personally and started wondering about my themes. the thing is i’ve been working with graphics that speak to me and it seems when i do that my themes really work. when i try something else
it just doesn’t come together. it’s not
about not having to work at it. i work hard at it. is there something wrong with me making gothic themes? there are people who love them, and i like them. i remember one time you told me to do what i like and that’s what i am trying to do now. and i think when you do what you like your themes will just pop. it all works and comes togetber.

    hi sis!
i don’t think your themes are boring. i think it is a reflection of what you are feeling as of the moment. having dark themes doesn’t always mean that you are on the dark side or your feeling down, it might mean you enjoy solitary for the moment. dark themes like black also gives perspective and depth so don’t take it negatively.
that theme you made with silver glitters and another theme with red actually looks elegant.
however, dont’ limit yourself to these colors. explore more coz eventually you will develop that eye for colors that works together.

hi sis, thanks for the encouragement.
you have always been there for me and have always been helpful when it comes to theme. i appreciate it. right now
i have a fairy theme up, sort of gothic, not really. i noticed it can be found in
the gothic section when you are looking for grahics but i found it a long time ago and that’ not where i found it. and dark graphics aren’t necessarily meaning that i’m depressed either. i just love dark
graphics. i like the way dark colors make the brighter colors pop.

anyway it’s all in a theme maker;s jouney eh?

hope you are having a good day.
    love and hugz

thanks for dropping by. i have actually tasted snow during my first ever snow experience way back 2003 in the Netherlands.

i’ve been told that it’s such a pain in the butt when you have to shovel and plow it. luckily, for the time being, it’s the apartment management’s job to do for us. so i will still enjoy it this year at least.
