My Secret Santa: Revealed!
I have been up for 24hrs yesterday since on my time of retirement after watching Transformers on the dvd, mom and Alan came home and as expected, we had long chitchat. I finally got the chance to rest in the arms of Morpheus at about 8am and as soon as my back touched the bed, I was totally blacked out. It was not until 7:30 when I woke up and thought that I slept for 24hrs coz that sleep felt like forever. On the contrary, it was 7:30 in the evening. One of my daily tasks that I claimed to do is checking the mailbox. I love checking the mailbox, not because I’m expecting something to arrive but because I simply like surprises and a tiny bit of hope is there which I’m not sure why it existed. Even the fact of receiving a chain letter from my “aunt in law in law” *(my own term for Travis’ uncle’s wife) means so much to me. Except that I didn’t comply it, as per suggestion from my hubby. Shhh! Thou shall not say anything… ‘coz if I’d do the chain letter, you will definitely be one of those who will get it. You don’t like receiving such a silly responsibility, do you? hehehe! When I opened our mailbox, it was stuffed with all the mail. And there’s 1 mail that occupied the entire box. I grabbed all of them and checked on the parcel as to who it is for. My hopes were right this time, it was for me. So, while I was walking from our mailbox to our house, I got the biggest smile on my face. When I sorted them out in the table, I noticed I didn’t get only that parcel but one very nice postcard with my name on it. A postcard coming from our good friend in Australia- Genalyn. No! No! No! She’s not my Secret Santa/ Monita. Thank you so much Gie! Your lovely postcard with the sweet message on it gave me that big smile on my face.
I was having second thoughts whether to open the parcel or not. The package was familiar… same packaging from the one I got last time. As I try to scrutinize the package and played detective to find out who it came from, I noticed similar stamp that bears “Royal Mail”. So, that stamp helped me narrow my options and confirmed my suspicion that this mail, surely came from the United Kingdom. I was hesitant to open it. But my fingers are itching… and my curiousity is killing me. Travis kept on telling me that I should not open it and wait ’til the 24th of December. Everytime I try to flip the side of the parcel to take a peep on what’s inside, he would have to spank my hand like a kid being caught stealing a cookie. Then I had a deep thinking and had a hunch that it’s too early to for my Monita to send me a gift. So, this one should be from Ms. Ann Kerney who sponsored the Guessing Game which I one after figuring out that the picture is that of a Champorado. I was having a hard time to convince Travis that it’s okay to open it. I told him that if it came from my Monita, I’ll have to close it right away after a p
eek and wait ’til the 24th of December. It took awhile until I convinced him. He was probably got bored listening to my explanations. He finally gave in. When I opened it, I found a note confirming that this came from Ann. It contains my prize for the guessing game and one more important thing, that she’s my Monita. I grabbed what’s inside and saw a lovely dress which I didn’t hesitate to put on instantly. Thank you so much Ms. Ann Kerney for the lovely dress. I so love it. Now, I feel like going out tomorrow and wear the dress. You just made me feel as sexy as you are. *winks* And don’t worry, I didn’t attempt to break the guidelines which I made myself, I’m still saving the other gift for Christmas Eve. I have come to realize that it’s best for us to put a “FROM: YOUR MONITA” if the parcel is for the exchanging gift. I don’t others to get too nervous in opening the package, hoping they aren’t violating the guidelines. Of if you may, you might want to wrap the gift just like my Secret Santa did. If in case, she opened it accidentally, the wrapper inside will let her know that it’s for Christmas Eve.
To Ms. Ann Kerney, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Having you as one of the members of the FilHaven family has definitely made a big difference. You made everyone smile with your posts, your contests and what more, your friendship. Thank you Yads!To Ms. Genalyn McNeven, you surprised me today. And having the postcard makes me wanna visit Australia someday. Not only because of its beauty but because you, Momi Lindz and the other sisters we have are there. Thank you for being my window to OZ.Now, I feel Christmas is coming near, and I have to soon mail my gift for my Monita. I will just have to wait for my order to arrive which I hope will be soon. I already got my gift. All I’m waiting for is Mom to buy us a tree so I can put my gift under it. *winks*
