My day started right.  I woke up early for our scheduled telephone conference with my Nanay and my sisters.  We made it a point that on every Saturday morning, we will spare some time for us to keep updated especially that some of us have jobs and may not be in contact because of its demands.  It is always nice to spend time and talk to my family. When I went to my desk, I found a bundle of tulips arranged in my crystal vase and in front of it is a package from Frederick’s of Hollywood.  I was surprised and totally clueless.

After the conference, I then prepared some bacon, eggs and banana bread for TS’ breakfast in bed.  I woke him up with a kiss and when I handed him what I prepared with my Valentine book for him, he told me that he is supposed to do it to me.  Cougar jumped on top of the bed too.  And like other breakfast in bed, I ended up sharing the food with him.

When TS needs to go down the hall to send back one of the Netflix dvds, he asked for my keys so he can check on the mail as well.  I searched for it on my purse, on my desk and everywhere but couldn’t find it.  The last thing I remember using it was when I checked the mail the night before and I sat in the couch for a little while (which I usually do).  My keys are nowhere to be found and it has totally ruined my day.  We asked our building admin if he has seen or anyone has surrendered a set of keys but he said he got nothing.  It totally ruined my day.  The rest of the day was spent with me sulking in the bed trying to squeeze some memory in my brain to help me retrieve the keys.  What me and TS are worried about is that someone might use it to get into our apartment.  We don’t have a wireless alarm that would alert for any intrusion.

I was so down and was in no mood to celebrate Valentines.  TS tried to cheer me up but I ended up crying more.  He cancelled our plans of dining out even when he was dressed up with the Converse preppy stripe shirt that I gave him.  He told me I should take a hot shower to relax myself and make myself feel better.  I was hesitant at first but when he reached out for something in his shirt’s pocket, I realized I’ve been too selfish to dwell on my misery and ruined TS’ Valentine’s Day as well.  He reached out to my ear and placed a heart-shaped ruby stud earring.  The more I cried (popcorn!) and the more I felt guilty.

While I was in the shower, TS went out to buy stuff to prepare for our dinner date at home.  He was very busy preparing dinner while I was putting my dress and doing my hair.  He’d check on me every now and then to make sure that everything is okay and that I’m no longer crying.  While I was halfway done and still in front of the mirror, he stood behind me and placed a graduated heart-shaped ruby necklace that matches the earrings.  I held back my tears so as not to ruin my make-up.

When I was done, he had to send me away to play with Cougar since the dinner and his presentation is not ready yet.  And when it was ready, he held my hand to lead me and when I was near our kitchen, he stood behind me and covered my eyes.  I could already smell the delicious food he prepared.  He has always been a good cook and I can stay that this one even from the smell alone is one of his best cooking.  When he uncovered my eyes,  I look into a beautiful sight of food, wine, a stuffed puppy, tea-lights shaped in heart and the tulips.  I was very impressed and he really made me feel special.  After dinner, I got another surprise when I checked on the stuffed puppy.  I found a ruby ring that matches my earrings and necklace he gave me earlier.

All the thoughts of the missing keys temporarily vanished.  I know I will have to worry about it tomorrow.  TS and I enjoyed the day and ended it watching the movie Eagle Eye.
