Blogging and Web Hosting
Blogging has become popular in the late 90′s. It was not until this year when I started to jump into the bandwagon of blogging. Most of us bloggers take pride of our blog posts, even if it is not read by a lot of people. It is our way to communicate and bring something out of our minds if not chest. It has become our way of life and our aid in expressing ourselves as we reflect in our day to day living.
Some blogs have become popular and the mainstream. Even big companies indulge in blogging as well. But what are the essentials of blogging and how do we make our own blog stand out among the rest?
We typically start with free blogging service like Blogger and WordPress. But to establish yourself in this fast pace world of blogging, it is ideal to have your own domain which will reflect the content of your blog and perhaps for good memory recall. I also would advise strongly to host ones website personally and not just rely on free services. Hosting ones own domain with give you a total control of your content, advertisements and even the amount of space you want to allocate in it.
If you decide to web host your site, it is best to know the company and the service it is providing. There are things that you need know and avoid when you decide to host your blog. You can find these information by checking out webhosting blog, customer reviews and the awards and recognition that particular company receives. There are lots of site that provide this but most of them are not as reliable as the Web Hosting Geeks. They provide unbiased reviews of each web hosting companies. Their blog is a good source of information. The articles in it cover a wide range of topics like Web Hosting, Web Development, Web Design, Domain Names, Search Engines and Site Promotion.
If you’re ready to stand out among others, check out WebHostingGeeks.com!

Great post Jacy!
I still use the free variety of blogger, wordpress, blogsome, and a few others.
(I have a lot of blogs)
To me, the best thing about a self hosted blog is the design and layout strenths. Beyond that, I guess I do not understand much about them.
The WordPress plugins I like are the comment luv, and recent comments with link plugins. On my “free” wordpress account … I cannot even access my template.
The one thing I like about blogger is just that – I can write my own template code.
I always notice how impressive your blog looks. I think it is one of the most visually appealing pages out there
Happy week, and hello from Speedy!!

Hello Speedy!
you’re right. you need to make additional purchase to be able to make changes on wordpress templates. other than that, you are only limited to changing the custom header.
i agree with you on your other point, the best thing about self hosted blog is that you have full control over your design and layout. and you can also choose the amount of space you want to allocate in each blog if you have multiply.
thank you so much for your compliments. it means so much to me especially that it came from you. take care, Speedy! and i’ll see you in your site.
