Let’s take a Memory Walk
Our life is full of memories. And looking back at those good times in the past has always been my favorite pastime. Remembering how it was like growing in a big family of 7 and we have to share whatever is on the table; going to school in a parada; and bringing pride and joy to the family. It definitely gives me a wonderful feeling that reconnects me to my youth and to my family.
But how would you feel if you gradually lose your memory? How is it like to no longer remember those precious moments? It is like taking half if not most of your life away. People with Alzheimer’s Disease or AD must’ve faced a lot of emotional stress especially on the very moment when they are diagnosed to have the devastating and progressive organic brain disorder. AD has become our nation’s sixth leading cause of death. This disease may run in the family but anyone who had previous head injuries could also be a possible candidate.
So, what can we do to help? Let’s leave the researches and studies to the professionals. We can help by becoming a part of any support grouop for AD. Let’s start by taking part of the Alzheimer’s Memory Walk. The Memory Walk is the Alzheimer’s Association’s signature event for awareness and fundraising for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. You can volunteer, invite your friends or exercise buddies and form a team to join the 2-3 mile walk which will be held on a weekend morning in the fall. You can visit this link to sign-up or to find the Memory Walk closest to you: Alzheimer’s Memory Walk.
So let’s get involved and get physically fit for a good cause! Now is the time to reach out…

sorry kaayo mam sige ko absent. i didn’t know naa diay tigcheck ug attendance? my belief is that friends stand the test of distance, time and even absence. we all have our own lives and our own priorities di ba? i’m sorry to say that i’m not a good enough friend if the only criteria is the presence of comments on blogs and sites.
yads, i bet you had your basis on this alzheimer’s thing. let me guess, the notebook? it was even painful for us who are only watching the flick no? how much more if we are the family member that the person who has AD will no longer recall. makahilak jud ko ug bugbog.

hello Yads!
you’ve got the most coloreful love life ever. ka-nindot oi you went to Palawan. i have never been there. Please post your pictures in Multiply gihapon. I am trying my best to be present there baya gihapon. Unsa-on man, abtan man ko mam Yting then iya ko papuniton ug sagbot sa oval. hehehe!
the reason why i promoted this AD awareness is because my memory has started to fail me. waaah! and there is the Alzheimer’s Association who tried to make activities to support their goals. hopefully, little by little, they can have a breakthrough. so by the time i will have AD, ma-ayo nako. hehehe! selfish reasons gihapon no? and btw,, it was a US statistic diay yads.
and lastly, i will go check on friendster sad beh. hehehe! miss you yads!

Hi Mami…I’ll help and support to those suffering AD as much as I can. It must be terrible for those who suffered from this…I saw it first hand mami, coz fafa G’s uncle died last December because of AD. It was so sad coz I always see his uncle every year and the last time we went to see him before he died, he couldn’t recognize us anymore and he even struggled talking too =( It was really heartbreaking.

hi mami!
i’m sorry to hear that mami. i didn’t know that the cause of his death was AD. i bet it was surely heartbreaking. and for someone who has it must be very frustrating.

jacy,
when i was taking care of the hubby who was dying from cancer (brain and lung),
it was like living with someone who had alzheimer’s. it was the same loss of
memory and how to do things. taking off and not knowing how to get back home.
the loss of communication was the hardest. it was like he died twice and loss of
communication was the 1st death.
thanks for stopping by today and for the invite.

Hello Deb!
That’s really sad. But I know he’s at peace wherever he is now. It must’ve been very painful for you and his family.
I’ll keep in touch more.

jacy,
it was almost 4 years ago and anyway, there’s a huge portion of my life
that i’d rather not remember. only after he died did my life become good.
before that………………..

hello ate Jenn!
i joined Social Spark because of Hazel. this is actually the first opportunity that I grabbed. But until now, I haven’t heard if this is being approved. So, it has not motivated me to get involve in it a lot. how long does it take for an approval?

it’s usually gonna take days before you’re going to be approved, sometimes a week. don’t worry its going to be approved soon. sometimes though Social Spark gets crappy. like tonight, i got a mail that i have 3 reservations created with them but when i went and tried to make a post, it suddenly isnt qualified to me anymore.
but they dont mess up with paying their bloggers though, not like that. they always pay and if your post is not approved, you would know coz they will send u an email.
try Pay Per Post, Jace. I’ve been earning a decent amount of money monthly coz of blogging. Last month, i earned $400 from PPP alone. karon pangsideline lang gihapon bisan kapoy sa work, hala blogging inig abot, hahahaha.

i’m gonna try it ate Jenn. thanks for the words of encouragement. i don’t call myself a real blogger coz i’d only blog about the things that interest me. i can’t make up words if i’m not into it.
maayo ka kay you have that talent baya jud ever since. nindot na kaayo na for a sideline oi. take care teh! i will try PPP one of these day.
