Seafood Lover

September5

I just happen to love food and I surely have the appetite for it. I have always been a seafood lover.  But it doesn’t mean I abhor the good tastes of pork, beef and chicken.   I love them too!  While we were in Tallahassee, we have the fortuity to dine at any restaurant we prefer.  And we have tried a variety of them from fast food to high-end.  Two great restaurants stand out – Ted’s Montana Grill (with their mouthwatering Bison Steak, garlic mashed potatoes, green beans and Coke Float) and Harry’s Seafood Bar and Grille (with their variety of seafood appetizers and sumptuous main courses to choose from).

Since both restaurants doesn’t have branches here in Minnesota, I decided to bring the flavors to my home.  I searched for seafood recipes online and came across www.GreatAmericanSeafoodCookOff.com.  It is a website that puts chefs head-to-head to produce one promising dish.  Yes, it is a cook off and only the best will prevail. Visit the website so you can vote for the best dish which you think deserves to win the cook off which will give you a chance to win a “Trip to New Orleans” Prize Package.

Among the five entries, my vote goes to Shrimp and Andouille Cassoulet of Chef Brian Landry from Louisiana.  The presentation was just great.  It definitely looks tempting. I love shrimp among other seafoods and the best part of it, the recipe is not at all very complicated.  A wannabe chef like myself can difinitely try to put the dish together at home.  I might have to skip the celery ingredient coz I’m not a big fan of it.  I wonder if not having such ingredient will differ the taste.  Hmmm… I’ll just have to see.

That’s gonna be one of the things that I’m looking forward to doing when I’m no longer stuck in my bed.  Trying this recipe will allow me to use domestic seafoods that are fresh, locan and it no doubt tastes good.  It’s funny how your mind tends to be so active when your body seemed so weak.  Gosh! I’m starting to crave and I want to end it soon….

    hi sis,

i’m with you. i love seafood here but in michigan you aren’t going to get straight from the water fresh. fresh frozen is more like it. my favorite is shrimp. like crab, hate lobster. i like mild white fishes most.
