A Gift of Hope

December8

We were in shock when we learned about the condition of Francis Magalona.  The Philippine Master Rapper was diagnosed with Leukemia or cancer of the blood last August.  Who would expect that he will be struck with such a disease?  No one did and any one could get it.

On a lighter note, technology and researches has lead us to some scientific breakthough.  Cryo-Cell has reported that the use of cord blood stem cells has become an accepted clinical therapy for the treatment of leukemia and lymphomas and other diseases.  Read the rest of this entry »

The Culprit

December8

decors 033 small 300x200 The CulpritTS and I decided to buy a different kind of Bird Feeds last Saturday to attract different kinds of birds.  We were also concern about these little creatures now that it’s winter and it will be difficult for them to find food.  We purchased a box that contains three 7lbs. bags of it.  As soon as we arrived home, I immediately filled the bird feeder with it.

The following morning, I went to check if there has been any birds who came over to enjoy the feast.  There was snow in the floor of my patio and I noticed there are tiny sets of footprints.  I realized such are too big for the tiny animals that I was trying to feed.  I just ignored it even if some of the food are scattered over the floor.

Artisan Marketplace

December8

artisan Artisan MarketplaceThere are some people who are just born with creative talents and skills.  I am not one of them but I still continue to strive to learn arts and crafts.  Last Thanksgiving, my sister – Madon gave me this hand-made knitted hat and scarf and I was just delighted with it!  It is so perfect for me as it is getting cold here in Minnesota.  She learned such skill from her mother-in-law who has been knitting as a hobby.  Some of my blogging friends have the hands that make wonders from scratch.  They can knit, make jewelries and accesories, ceramics and a whole lot more.

These people who has the talent to make something out of nothing can definitely make a business out of their outputs.   Artisan MarketplaceThey need a place where they can sell the items they made and have it available for those who lack the talent like me to purchase it.  ArtFire.com is a vast website that helps artisans like my sister and my blogging friends make an income out of their hobby.

In comparison to one renowned marketplace, ArtFire.com do not charge anything for listing unless you want to have additional features and added attention to your account. For those who lack the talent, ArtFire.com is still a good place for us to find artisan products.  Since it has a vast collection, there is certainty that you can find what you are looking for.  This sure is a site for buyers and sellers to come together and celebrate talent and skills of arts and crafts! Wild Rides

December5

I have never been to any wild adventure theme parks.  I have only been to Disney World and Euro Disney of which rides are not extreme I should say.  There are a lot of theme parks that offers great rides and I have never been to one of them.  I think the coming year would be a great time to hunt for attraction parks that possess exciting and wild rides.  I’m a dare-devil so I’m not scared of them.

As my search for these parks online continue, I came across one Jersey Shore beach Vacation destination.  A place where the entire family can enjoy – Morey’s Piers.  It is a place with great Wildwood attractions and roller coasters. The place has a 3 amusement parks and 2 more beachfront waterparks. It will definitely tickle your fancy.  There are rides for little kids, the big kids and the kids in all of us.  You will never run of fun things to do.  The good thing is that, they are currently having a big deal for 2009 Season Passes. If you are looking for a gift idea this Christmas, give your child or family the gift of laughter and enjoyment with Morey’s Piers’ Holiday Tickets, 2009 Season Pass and a whole lot more.

I’m looking forward to visiting this place.  I might as well check on Melod’s and her girls as they were planning to visit it next year. Wild Rides

Thanksgiving and Back!

December5

dsc01377 150x150 Thanksgiving and Back! After a short time spent in Georgia and Florida with even a longer travel time, I have finally regained my energy and I’m back blogging. The drive down South wasn’t bad at all. However, it was just so long especially crossing the state of Illinois that I wish the state would just disappear.

We arrived in Madon and Dean’s place at the expected time.  Manoy Brandit and Madon was still up when we arrived.  I am very pleased with Madon’s place as it is very cozy and filled with Christmas spirit.  It is neat and well-adorned from the living room to the guest bathroom which has a Frog theme and Kohler faucets.  We instantly felt at home!  Read the rest of this entry »

What I’m Thankful For

November28

thanksgiving 1024x541 What Im Thankful For

The Thanksgiving celebration was a blast.  I never expected to have an overflowing of energy coming from my end.  Despite the lack of sleep after arriving at 3am EST and waking up at 7am when Rorie and Christian arrived from their overnight drive.  Since then, I never stop moving around from doing groceries to cooking with TS and serving dinner.

When you are with the people you love and enjoy being with, you can never feel being tired nor bored.  I just love the day and I was in great mood and I should say shape when it comes to prepping for the big feast.  We had more than enough food to eat and I’m thankful for that.  I am also thankful for the love that surrounds me especially the love of my family and most especially the love and support of TS.  I am thankful for the company of friends and online buddies.  I am thankful for good health, fine shelter and safe trip.

I am thankful for all of you who never failed to visit my site and drop comments.  I am thankful for the life that was given to me and I know I will continue to be thankful for the journey ahead.

Open Video to Santa

November26

It has been awhile since I last wrote a letter to Santa Claus.  And I thought writing a letter these days would be outdated.  Instead, I decided to have an Open Video for Santa Claus.  If I were still a kid, I would be wishing for a pony and some other good stuff.  I am a big fan of Disney animations and being able get a toy Palace or a Winnie the Pooh stuff animal would be like experiencing the disney magic myself.

If you need for a place to shop for your kids’ Christmas presents, Mega Brands is a place for you to shop with a lot of things to choose from.  Check it out and it will awaken the child in you!

Changing Plans

November25

We have been planning for this occasion that we will spend Thanksgiving with my side of the family while we spend Christmas on Travis’ side.  The original plan of this Thanksgiving celebration was for us to fly in to Atlanta and my sister- Rosarie and her husband-Christian will drop us in Jacksonville to take thing things that we have left including our baby – Cougar.  From Jacksonville, we would then rent a bigger vehicle like an SUV to have everything fit.

After careful consideration of the prices and the busy airports, we have decided to cancel flying and rent an SUV from here in Minnesota and take it to Jax.  On rough estimation, it will cost us at least $500 for the rental and the gas for the entire period of our trip to the South.  But then TS came up with another idea.  He told me that we can actually fit everything in our car (Mitsubishi Galant) with the exception of the cheap folding tables which for him is not worth the $300+ rental.  His idea actually makes sense and it won’t be a problem since we just had the vehicle and the car parts checked.  So, I did not hesitate on embracing his idea.

Changing plans has been a part of our lives.  I don’t seem to have a problem with it as long as the change will bring more benefits to us.  In this case for instance, it can save us the rental cost.  It was not only this time that we had changing plans.  And because of such recurrence, I have learned to become more flexible.  I like to plan things but if there are changes necessary, I don’t mind it.

Gift-Giving on Thanksgiving

November25

christmaspresent Gift Giving on ThanksgivingMy ideal Holiday Season is to spend it with my family.  Unfortunately for me, I live at least 1,187 miles away from my sisters and even much more miles from my home in Cebu.  Since it is not convenient for us to be travelling that much for Christmas and New Year, we decided that our Thanksgiving trip will have to make up for those special occasion.

I have already packed my Christmas presents for my siblings.  I always like to see the look on their face when they know that I got something for them.  I was thinking of getting them gift baskets but since I was able to find good deals on some particular stuff, I decided to buy it instead.

Christmas has always been the time of the year that serves as the gift-giving occasion.  But since I won’t be spending Christmas with my siblings, I have decided to do gift-giving on Thanksgiving instead.  Actually, it doesn’t have to be on a particular occasion that one has to give.  If I only have the means, I would be giving them whenever I want.  But since we are still saving, special occasions like these will have to do.  I hope they will like it!

aboutme About

“There are as many nights as days, and the one is just as long as the other in the year’s course.Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word ‘happy’ would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness.”

This is my journey to life – an interdependence of actions and dreams.

I love to travel.  It’s how I learned to become more accepting.

I love my friends.  They brought so much color to my living.

I love my family.  They have never stopped giving.

I love my life.  I never ceased growing.
