And He Delivers…

It was one of the thrilling games I’ve ever witnessed. This Sunday’s NFL game between my Minnesota Vikings and their historic rival – the Green Bay Packers gave me a scare and I really called out to heaven (literally) for help.
We missed the first quarter of the game and when we tuned in through Justin.tv, we were pleased with what we saw – the score with the Purple (Vikings) on the lead for 12-7. We were already on the 2nd Quarter and Jared Allen – one of my favorite defensive players (apart from E. J. Henderson) started to show his disruptive force. He forced Rodgers (Packer’s QB) to the endzone which gave us our second safety.
The Vikings took a 14-10 lead into the locker room at a halftime. But they left their winning spirit there. The packers came out of the second half and eventually took a lead on the 3rd Quarter. Though the Vikings scored first on the 3rd Quarter with a 47-yard touchdown reception by Chester Taylor, the Packers scored 17 unanswered points. Collin’s interception return and Blackmon’s punt return put the Green Bay Packers on top by a 24-21 margin. And a 40-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter put Green Bay ahead 27-21.
When all hopes are gone and Gus Frerotte (this is not his best game obviously) losing confidence, the Vikings need someone to step up and bring that fighting spirit back. And when we need him, he delivers… Adrian Peterson would not be denied. The Vikings fed Peterson the ball almost exclusively on the game-winning drive, quickly turning a doomed mood into one of exuberance late in the fourth quarter.
The Vikings called Peterson’s number six times on the seven-play, game-winning drive. He rushed the ball four times for 40 yards on the drive and also had two receptions for 24 yards. The first three rushes of the drive went to the left side but the fourth and final run went off right tackle and turned into a 29-yard scoring run. Peterson hauled a defender on his back for the final four yards to put the Vikings ahead 28-27 with 2:30 to play in the game.
After a nice kick return by Blackmon to the Green Bay 41-yardline, Rodgers moved the Packers into potential field goal range thanks to a deflected pass and 19-yard gain to Donald Driver and then a three-yard strike to Driver again. Ultimately, Green Bay was forced to try a 52-yard field goal. It was at this moment that I literally prayed (like I usually did when my favorite basketball team back in the Philippines – Sunkist is in a close game). I closed my eyes and hoped the hardest for kicker Mason Crosby to miss this field goal. His attempt was pushed more to the right, resulting in a one-point victory for the Vikings. For someone who is religious like me, I think there was indeed a Diving Intervention. And I thank God that even for a tiny thing like this, when I asked for it, He delivers….

Haha–when ur into the game and ur team is losing–u need and call God for help—it’s thrilling and exciting while it boosted up all ur immune cells—
Anyway, nice blog!

it would be nice if we can play together, wen. don’t worry i’m not very good at it too. the last time i played with TS, we ended up chasing balls instead of hitting them.
